Regency Park, Cary Master Bath - 2017 Designer of the Year Award

This was a total gut job of a 20 year old poorly functioning master bath. The wish list included: a full size tub over a corner garden model; large shower with a seat; storage with a clothes hamper; an operable window over glass block; improved lighting; and easy access to high cabinets. Awkward spaces included a recessed ledge starting 3' above the commode doorway that was a purposeless dust collector. There was also an open space between the master and bathroom with a door to the sun porch. The new plan blocked off access to the exterior and used this space as part of the bathroom. The wall and door was moved. The recess wall was closed up with drywall. New materials for the entire bathroom were selected and replaced with functionality and aesthetics in mind. , A chandelier on a dimmer switch provides extra ambience and sparkle. The new space accommodates a full sit down shower, soaking tub, new windows and plenty of storage in a tranquil spa color pallet with lots of light.. Custom wall cabinetry includes a linen tower with a hidden hamper and stool to reach up to the top of the tower. Through the design process we were able to give the homeowners the storage and enlarged space they have desired for so long.
